Update on my new camera

I'm getting to grips with the D200 and have been shooting like crazy to try and learn all it's features!!

I've also started both a PBase and a Nikonians account so I can store all my images as well as on my own web.

The only images on my web are Birds so far.

(There is also a permanent link to my web images on the right of this page)

For a sample daffodil image on PBase See here

For my Nikonians Gallery See Here

I chose PBase as it has a facility for viewers to see the EXIF data of the shot if they are interested enough

Waiting for Spring (and my Nikon D200!)

Over on my general Blog Third Eye , I spoke about the lust known as NAS
(Nikon Acquisition Sydrome). Well the time is fast approaching when I will
order MY new camera and lenses.

Much as I liked the old one HP945 (5 Mpixels), I've just outgrown it.

I am really pleased to be getting the new one at this time of year. Seems to me each morning
I go out there are even more birds singing...they know Spring is coming ;-)

Arial Dance

This shot makes me thinkthe gull is dancing.

Dipper

Not the best shot in the world, I'll admit.

But saw this Dipper (or Water Ousel) during
my 5 mile walk in the Pentlands today

If you know that part of the world, it was by the
stream that runs between the two reservoirs

Linlithgow Palace from the West Bay

Just to let you understand, this is 50 metres
from a busy High Street in Scotland!!!

And....you can park your car 5 metres from
where this shot was taken!

Really nice shot....in spite of the birds ...lol

Linlithgow Loch bird shots

Common or garden Moor Hen (nice though)

Really need some help with this one!!
Believe it might be some form of Mallard hybrid
Have not got a clue what the other could be
..please advise soonest if you think you know!!

Golden Eye (male) ...for obvious reasons!!

Goose..snow goose??

Linlithgow Loch 18th Feb

Went to Linlithgow Loch today to take some shots of birds

The shot below shows the correct time in the afternoon on North Berwick clock on the High Street.

You can just see the moon rising

I so wish I had my new camera and lenses!!!!
This is, I believe, a pair of Bar Tailed Godwits.

You should have seen the shots I'd have got when I get my new camera....lol

Tufted Duck 28 Jan 2006

I said in an earlier post today that there were some Tufted Duck on the top loch in Holyrood Park
(see here)
Here is view of some of them;-)

Don't dis(-respect) the Young

Some even have to learn how to fly!!!

Duddingston Loch this morning - 28th Jan 2006...
God, you really did make a beautiful place !

Duddingston Loch Week II

I had some spare time today, and took my camera to Holyrood Park.

It was not the best of days, and more than once I wished it was March so I could shoot with soon to be acquired Nikon D200 .

Still, patience is a virtue...as my Grannie would say.....hehehe

These are, I believe, Chinese Bean Geese...if I'm wrong, please correct me!

Magnificant swan....

This is a bit of a cheat.....

The Tufted Duck was snapped at the top Loch in Holyrood (sorry...don't know the name of the loch)

Well is'nt really a loch...more of a pond :-)

On Duddingston today were a number of wildfowl.....there must have been 20 heron...tufted duck, Goldeneye..Widgeon.....and of course Mallard;-)

God help me....I'm climbing the Pentlands tomorrow...again!!!

My domestic manager believes exercise will help her to reach "target weight".....and I have to help!

Trouble is I climb the ****ing hills no problem and have to wait for her to catch up!!!

Still, all in the name of domestic harmony...and maybe one day I'll snap the buzzatds....=8-)
